CSV Tidy Kit 1.0.0 — early release. Review small CSV exports locally, choose cleanup steps and export a fresh copy. Extract the complete ZIP and open index.html in a desktop browser. No server, account, installation or API key is required. Files are processed locally without uploads or network requests.

Choose what changes

• Find blank records, exact duplicate records, uneven columns, outer whitespace and formula-like values.
• Opt in to trimming whitespace, removing blank records and removing exact duplicates.
• Compare the first 25 data records before and after cleanup.
• Download a cleaned CSV and diagnostic JSON.

Options start off. Changes recalculate from the original file, which is never overwritten. Duplicate removal compares complete records; leave it off when repeated records are legitimate.

Input and limits

One UTF-8 file with a header; comma, semicolon or tab. Maximum 2 MiB, 10,000 data records and 100 columns per record. UI shows up to 100 issue entries; JSON includes up to 1,000 per before/after version with full counts. Uneven columns block CSV export. No XLSX editor, fuzzy matching or automatic repair of uneven columns.

Values stay text during processing. Spreadsheet apps can still convert leading zeroes and long IDs when opening CSV; import identifier columns as text. Optional export escaping prefixes an apostrophe before formula-like values beginning with =, +, - or @ after whitespace. It changes text, including negative-number text, and does not guarantee comprehensive spreadsheet security.

Validation

25 automated processing tests pass. Manual browser, local file-opening and actual download verification have not yet been completed for this early release.
